Studio 5000 View Designer

This webinar will cover the PanelView 5500 hardware and demonstrate Studio 5000 View Designer configuration software. Demonstration hardware will include a PanelView 5310 HMI and a CompactLogix PAC. A View Designer project will be configured from scratch to:

  • Communicate with a Logix 5000 PLC
  • Emulate the PanelView 5500 hardware from the development PC
  • Create and bind graphic objects to Logix 5000 tags
  • Create Alarms using alarm-based instructions
  • Configuring the navigation menu, runtime diagnostics, and security and navigate using the System Banner
  • We will finish with links of Rockwell’s YouTube channel for “how-to videos” on the PanelView 5000 and Studio 5000 View Designer.


Proposal Works and Integrated Architecture Builder (IAB)

Proposal Works is a free download that will allow you select all potential options for any Allen-Bradley hardware. It will also give you the product lifecycle and upgrade options for end of life products. It also contains utilities for:

  • Quickly generating bill of materials in an excel sheet to include list price using the export functionality
  • Find documentation and specifications for each part using the documents tab


Integrated Architecture Builder is a free download that will assist you in selecting the correct components for your control system and network architecture. IAB will allow you to select and configure the smallest Micro800 PLC system to the largest PlantPAx systems. It is used to validate controller and networks configuration and will let you know if you have exceeded capacity or capability. Finally, it will produce full bill for material for quoting purposes as well as layouts in Visio and PowerPoint. It also contains utilities for:

  • Quickly generating multiple controller configurations/bill of materials based on your own I/O list
  • Platform migration from MicroLogix/SLC/PLC to Mico800/CompactLogix/ControlLogix
  • Generating export files to Studio 5000 Architect to then automatically generate Logix Designer applications.


Stratix Industrial Switch Setup and Tricks

FactoryTalk AssetCentre Basic
